Jim McKinney

Jim McKinney was named the Director of Computing and Telecommunications (CTC) in late 2007. He was the director of Campus Information Systems from 2002 to 2007 and became the Acting Director of Campus Computing in July 2007. Jim originally joined the University of Nevada, Reno in January 1998 as a Database Administrator. From 1990-1998, Jim held progressively responsible roles at Sierra Pacific Power Company. During his 8 years at Sierra Pacific, he was a Mainframe Programmer/ Analyst, Client Server Analyst, and Database Administrator. He received his BS in Computer Information Systems from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1985 and began his career in the General Dynamics Data Division as a Payroll Programmer. Jim is a Nevada native and loves outdoor activities such as landscaping, waterskiing, and hunting. |
