Campus Computing

  Campus Computing provides computing support to students, faculty, and staff in academic and administrative departments across campus. As such, their primary concern is customer service. They are also responsible for core IT systems and services, including email, network security, NetID authentication, and internal and external IT communications, including the administration of this web site.

Campus Computing is currently headed by Jim McKinney, who is in charge of six major areas:

 

Desktop Services

User Services

    Led by Ken Hull, Desktop Services provides computing support to administrative and academic departments on the Supported Platform. Hardware service and upgrades are also provided by the Support Center.   Led by Tina Lundstrom, User Services provides the walk-up Help Desk in Getchell Library, maintains and operates IT's general-access computer labs and consults on departmental lab configurations.
 

Systems Administrators

Network & Computer Security

    Led by Tom Leathley, IT Systems Administrators provide departmental/geographic support to departments. Located throughout campus, Sys Admins are responsible for specific applications, servers, and functional areas.   Led by Jeff Springer, the Security group oversees network security, provides the centralized NetID authentication, anti-virus management, and best-practices methodology.
 

Systems Projects

Phone Systems

    Dino Cabal handles Supported Platform migrations, among other process-improvement initiatives. He provides project management and support for core IT systems and services.   Led by Ray Newcomb, PBX Engineer, this group oversees telecomm services for the campus, including land lines, cell phones (SmartPhone and Blackberry).
