Faculty & Staff: Twilight or Exchange

Faculty and staff are encouraged to use a University email account for business purposes. Two primary email systems are available.

  1. EXCHANGE:
    • Exchange is the primary email system for UNR faculty and staff.
    • For best results with an Exchange account, use Outlook or Entourage (Mac), but ANY secure email client can be used. UNR IT will configure email for Faculty & Staff on University-owned equipment.
    • Outlook allows for collaborative applications, such as calendar sharing, meeting requests, and public folders.
    • For off-campus access to Outlook, use Outlook Web Access (Windows & Mac).
  2. TWILIGHT:
    • Twilight is a UNIX-based email server.
    • An updated version of Webmail is now available on Twilight and departmental servers at: Wolfmail.unr.edu.

NOTE: The University, WebCampus and other applications use the student's preferred account to send official documents. To register your preferred account, go to ePAWS and update your contact information.

Undergraduate and graduate students are assigned an email account on the Fallon server when they are accepted by the University of Nevada, Reno. It is the official communications link between the University and students. The account is secure, offers personal storage and web space and many professors require UNR email accounts and UNR email addresses are loaded into WebCampus (WebCT).
