Majordomo Mailing List (Open/Closed)
Requests to unsubscribe to a specific mailing list must be sent from the email address used for the mailing list. That is, if you subscribed from your student email account on Fallon, you must send the unsubscribe request from that same account.
To unsubscribe from a Majordomo list hosted by the unr.edu server:
Recommended: Use Twilgiht Wolfmail or Fallon Webmail
Alternate method: Secure Shell
IMPORTANT: Make sure you send your email in text mode only. Do not use web- or browser-based email unless you have disabled any mime or HTML features. The Majordomo program is very simple and does not understand anything other than basic commands in simple text format.
The process used to unsubscribe from mailing lists and list services hosted by other servers (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) will be similar, depending on the type of list.
If you try to unsubscribe from a list and get error messages, forward the entire error message to the University's Help Desk, help@unr.edu, for assistance in figuring out the problem.
