Configuring Filters for MS Outlook
- Open Outlook.
- Click Tools / Rules & Alerts.
- Click New Rule to start the Rules Wizard.
- Select Start from a Blank Rule.
- Under Step 1, select the default option of Check messages when they arrive.
- Click Next.
- Under Step 1, select the condition(s) to filter by.
- For example, you could choose "from people or distribution list," "with specified words in the subject," and so on.
- Under Step 2, click any underlined words to assign additional options to your filter.
- For the "people or distribution list," you can select a name from Rule Address (your Outlook Contacts).
- For "with specified words in the subject," type specific words, e.g., Viagra.
- Click Next.
- Under Step 1, select an action (what you want to do with the message).
- Under Step 2, click and configure any underlined words.
- Click Next.
- If there are any exceptions to this rule, you can choose and configure them.
- Click Next.
- Name your rule and click Finish.
- You can continue creating more rules or click OK to leave the Rules Wizard.

To View Full Headers (for reporting Child Pornography)
- View the original message.
- Select Options.
- In the Message Options dialog box, you see Internet headers (at the bottom) .
- Highlight all text in the Internet headers box.
- To copy, press Control+C.
- Click Close to close the dialog box.
- Now paste (by pressing Control+V) this header information into a new mail message to spam@unr.edu.
- Type Child Porn in the Subject line and click Send.
