Fallon Webmail Vacation Messages
The vacation program is used to automatically send a user-specified response to incoming email. Use it when you plan to be away from your email for a short period (usually less than a month.) For email addresses ending in @unr.nevada.edu, @scsr.nevada.edu or @scs.unr.edu
To turn the Vacation feature ON
- From an Internet-connected machine, start an Internet browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator)
- Go to https://swami.scsr.nevada.edu
- Login using your email account username (your email address to the left of the @-sign) and password
- Click Account Records
- Click Modify Mail Settings
- Select Set Vacation Message
- Write an appropriate vacation message in the large text box
- The text is included in the body of the message.
- Be sure to consider your personal and property safety when providing details
- This vacation message is sent to every new incoming email address whether or not they are known to you.
- Click Submit
- Logout of SWAMI
To turn the Vacation feature OFF
- From an Internet-connected machine, start an Internet browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator)
- Go to https://swami.scsr.nevada.edu
- Login using your email account username (your email address to the left of the @-sign) and password
- Click Account Records
- Click Modify Mail Settings
- Confirm the current status of Vacation Utility, proceed if ON.
- Select Discontinue Vacation Message
- Click Submit
- Logout of SWAMI
*IMPORTANT NOTE: The vacation program interacts with the email forwarding feature. You must reestablish email forwarding after turning the vacation feature off. Click here for email forwarding instructions.
