Forwarding Messages Using Wolfmail Filters

At the University of Nevada, Reno, there are two methods to forward your messages on a UNIX-based account (e.g. Twilight, Engineering, Computer Science) and the method described below discusses using Wolfmail filters. The other method uses a ".forward" file, which would be created during a secure shell session.

To Set a Forward:

  1. Point your web browser (such as, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.) to wolfmail.unr.edu.
  2. Select the server that you have an account on from the dropdown list available. Fallon is not available through Wolfmail. Fallon users should use SWAMI to set a forward.
  3. Login with your account username (that part of your email address to left of @-sign) and password.
  4. Click the plus (+) sign next to Mail.
  5. Click Filters.
  6. In the middle of the page, under “Existing Rules,” click Forward.
  7. If you want a copy of all Wolfmail emails sent to a forwarding email address, check the box to “Keep a copy of messages in this account?” (Note: This step will have a negative effect upon your quota.)
  8. In the box labeled “Address(es) to forward to:, list all email address(es) to which you would like your Equinox email forwarded
  9. Click Save to save the forward
  10. Click Return to Rules List to return to the “Existing Rules” screen
  11. Verify that the “Forward” rule has a green check mark next to it.
    • If not, click the red “X” and it will change to a green check mark, which enables the forward

To Remove or Disable a Forward:

  1. Point your web browser (such as, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.) to wolfmail.unr.edu.
  2. Select the server that you have an account on from the dropdown list available. Fallon is not available through Wolfmail. Fallon users should use SWAMI to set a forward.
