Forwarding Messages Using Wolfmail Filters
At the University of Nevada, Reno, there are two methods to forward your messages on a UNIX-based account (e.g. Twilight, Engineering, Computer Science) and the method described below discusses using Wolfmail filters. The other method uses a ".forward" file, which would be created during a secure shell session.
To Set a Forward:
- Point your web browser (such as, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.) to wolfmail.unr.edu.
- Select the server that you have an account on from the dropdown list available. Fallon is not available through Wolfmail. Fallon users should use SWAMI to set a forward.
- Login with your account username (that part of your email address to left of @-sign) and password.
- Click the plus (+) sign next to Mail.
- Click Filters.
- In the middle of the page, under “Existing Rules,” click Forward.
- If you want a copy of all Wolfmail emails sent to a forwarding email address, check the box to “Keep a copy of messages in this account?” (Note: This step will have a negative effect upon your quota.)
- In the box labeled “Address(es) to forward to:, list all email address(es) to which you would like your Equinox email forwarded
- Click Save to save the forward
- Click Return to Rules List to return to the “Existing Rules” screen
- Verify that the “Forward” rule has a green check mark next to it.
- If not, click the red “X” and it will change to a green check mark, which enables the forward
To Remove or Disable a Forward:
- Point your web browser (such as, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.) to wolfmail.unr.edu.
- Select the server that you have an account on from the dropdown list available. Fallon is not available through Wolfmail. Fallon users should use SWAMI to set a forward.
- Login with your account username (that part of your email address to left of @-sign) and password.
- Click the plus (+) sign next to Mail.
- Click Filters.
- To temporarily disable a forward, click the green check mark next to “Forward” under “Existing Rules”. It turns into a red “X” and is disabled until you enable it again.
- To remove the forward entirely, please follow the remaining instructions:
- Under “Existing Rules," click Forward.
- Remove any address(es) under the “Address(es) to forward to:” box.
