Computer Labs

Information Technology provides general access and training computer labs for currently affiliated students, faculty, and staff.

If you need assistance with a computer in an IT lab, call the Help Desk at 682-5000 (25000 on campus).

General Access Labs

To enter and use these labs, you must have a current University ID with a validation sticker for the current semester and a NetID username and password to authenticate on the computers. No food, drink, or smoking is allowed in the labs; please help us keep our labs clean.

  • E. L. Cord Computer Lab, 784-4344, Getchell Library, Main Floor
    • Over 80 computers, both PCs and iMacs, loaded with general and special-use software
    • LaserJet printers, color LaserJet, flatbed scanners
    • Check availability of computers at the Help Desk on LUIS (Lab User Information System)
  • DataWorks Lab, Getchell Library, Room 8B, Lower Level 2
    • 14 high-end computers loaded with data-analysis software, such as ArcGIS, Chem3D, Mathematica, SAS and SPSS
    • Large-format scanners and printers

Training Labs

When not being used for training, computers in these labs are also available for student use:

  • E.L. Cord Training Lab, Getchell Library, Main Floor
    • 24 computers
  • Small Training Lab, Getchell Library, Room 1A on Lower Level 2
    • 8 computers
  • Dynamic Media Lab, Getchell Library, Room 8B on Lower Level 2
    • For video and DVD post-production work
    • 12 Macs optimized for digital video
    • Mini DVD player/recorder, NTSC monitor, and specialized software

Departmental Computer Labs

Many colleges and departments have their own computer labs. Generally, these are available only to students registered in specific courses.
