Small Training Lab

The Small Training Lab is located in Room 1A on Lower Level 2 of Getchell Library:

Ed Handley teaches PC Basics in the Small Training Lab.

  • Open as needed for smaller training classes
    (not intended for regularly scheduled weekly classes)
  • 8 workstations
  • 1 instructor workstation
  • No printer is available in the lab; print jobs go to the Help Desk printer

Reserve the Small Training Lab

University faculty and staff may reserve the lab. It is your responsibility to visit the lab in advance of your reservation to make sure the hardware and software meets your expectations. Authentication is required using your NetID.

  • To reserve the Small Training Lab for a class or workshop, contact Kim Bonnenfant at 775-784-4085 or send an email to kimb@unr.edu.

Students can check the availability of computers in the Small Training Lab on the Help Desk's Lab User Information System (LUIS), which displays on a monitor just outside the E.L. Cord Training Lab.

Technical Support

Technical support is available during regular Help Desk hours. With two weeks notice, you can arrange to have our staff load your licensed software on the computers.

Rules of Use

  • Use is subject to the Computing and Network Use Agreement
  • No food or drink is allowed in the lab.
  • Do not save personal files on the computers; files are removed during reboot. However, you may save to flash drives, IBM-formatted 3.5” diskettes and Iomega Zip-250/100 drives. The Training Lab's instruction station can also save data to the network mapped T: drive.
