Computer Repair
- Desktop Services' Support Center repairs PCs, peripheral hardware, and helps with difficult operating system problems that require in-depth analysis.
- Some services performed by the Support Center require a nominal fee for time and materials.

- FAQs is a self-support section, providing an online database of email support issues.

E-Purchasing
- Find information on e-purchasing and other ways to purchase goods and services through Nevada System for Higher Education (NSHE) vendors.
Hardware (Recommended Computers)
- Special volume discounts are available to faculty and staff on Dell and Apple computers through the University of Nevada, Reno.
- To help you choose the right computer for your needs, we have included sample systems for various price ranges, laptop portability requirements, and performance levels.
UNR NAS ― Individual & Shared Network Drives
Did you know you can get individual storage space on the University's Network Attached Storage (NAS)? This is a service provided by Information Technology (IT). To find out more, contact the Support Center or Help Desk.
Software ― University-Provided, Discounted, and Free
- Information on University-provided, discounted, and free software available to faculty and staff.

Systems Administrators
- IT Systems Administrators provide on-campus computing support.
- To locate the Systems Administrator for your area, contact the Help Desk or Support Center.
Terminal Services Off-Campus Access
Terminal Services allows you to access many University network resources from home. Authentication requires a NetID username and password. Note: Access to Terminal Services is limited and granted on a per-user basis. Call or email the Help Desk for assistance.
University Directory
- Find contact information for anyone who works at the University of Nevada, Reno in this online directory. A search engine allows you to search by name, department, title.
- Use Employee Self-Service (ESS) to update your listing in the University Directory. ESS is an online service for faculty, staff, and other University affliates, provided by the Human Resources Department. It also keeps other employment information up to date. Use your new Employee ID and a private PIN to access the system and your personnel information.
University Libraries
- You can bring the library and its resources to your computer on the University Libraries website. Many articles and books are available online in full text.
- Online library resources are available from any computer on the Campus Network with NetID.
- Find instructions on using these resources from off-campus.
