Fallon Email Accounts

By default, graduate students receive Fallon email accounts at the University of Nevada, Reno. Graduate student accounts are created based on your acceptance in a graduate program.

If you are a new student, first activate your account through SWAMI, the utility for Fallon Webmail.

Exchange/Twilight Email Accounts

Graduate students who are employed as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Research Assistant (RA) may request an Exchange or Twilight email account (ending in "@unr.edu") by contacting the Help Desk.

New Hires: Bring proof of employment (Personnel Action Form) to the Help Desk to avoid delays in processing.

  1. Exchange: Exchange is the preferred email system for faculty and staff at the University of Nevada, Reno. For best results with an Exchange account, use Outlook (or Entourage for Mac), but ANY secure email client can be used. Outlook has many collaborative features, such as calendar sharing, meeting requests, and public folders.
  2. Twilight: Twilight is a UNIX-based email server.

NetID Accounts

  • All University-affiliated faculty, staff and students must activate their NetID for access to many electronic services.
  • A NetID account is different and separate from your University email account.

Online Library Resources

Many online resources are available to graduate students through the University Libraries, including the full text of many articles and books.

  • To use these resources from a computer on the Campus Network, you must have a NetID.
  • View instructions for off-campus access to licensed library services.

WebCT

  • You can take online University courses through WebCT.
  • Workshops are also available for WebCT developers.
