Web Link Policy

Policy:
Requests for links to Web sites from the main University of Nevada, Reno gateway (www.unr.edu) are reviewed based upon the entity's relationship to the University. The Web Management Team reserves the right to determine this relationship for purposes of all gateway link decisions.
- University Web sites
Sites representing official University entities are granted links from the gateway, with link placement and labeling determined by the Web Management Team.
- Maintainers of University sites are encouraged to contact the Web Management Team to request links and provide notification of Uniform Resource Locator (URL) changes.
- Linked University sites must contribute to the consistent and appropriate representation of the University by adhering to the University's Graphic Standards Manual. Web standards are on page 32 of the PDF.
- University-affiliated Web sites
Sites representing entities affiliated with the University, but not contained exclusively within the institution, will be granted links from the gateway at the Web Management Team's discretion.
- Elements of the University's Web Style Guide not applicable to the entity's affiliated relationship shall be waived.
- However, the Web Management Team may request that you follow style guide requirements and suggestions that contribute to the quality browsing experience of the University site's visitors.
- Non-University-affiliated Web sites
Non-University-affiliated Web sites will not be granted links from the university's gateway Web site.
Reason:
This link policy is designed to maintain the integrity of the University of Nevada Web site.
