For University-Owned Computers:All University-owned equipment should have the Symantec® Endpoint Protection installed. The software should be configured to update the virus definition file at least weekly. Contact the Research and Computing Help Desk for installation and configuration. Check Your AntiVirus VersionThe current version of Symantec AntiVirus is 11.0.4000.2295. Running an older version of the client can expose your computer to potential security risks. To check what version of the client you're running, double-click the yellow shield icon in your system tray
then go click on Help and Support and choose About... and note the
version number displayed. If your client is not the current version, use the instructions on this page to get the latest version of the client installed on your computer. |
Self-Installation InstructionsIMPORTANT! If you have more than one antivirus software packaged installed on your computer, it can cause the machine to malfunction. Common antivirus software packages include McAfee, Norton, AVG, and Sophos. UNINSTALL any other antivirus software BEFORE installing Symantec AntiVirus.Once you have obtained installation files for Symantec AntiVirus, follow the instructions below to install the software.
