PC & Laptop Replacement Program

For Faculty & Staff:

Do you have a computer that is 4+ years old and needs to be replaced? If you are a full-time, state-paid University employee and the PC being replaced is 4 years or older, you may qualify for a new desktop or laptop computer through Desktop Services’ Support Center.

Currently available for this program are:

PC (Desktop)

Dell OptiPlex with Core 2 Duo processor at 2.13 GHZ, 2-GB RAM, 19” flat panel display, DVD-RW drive and 160-GB hard drive. (Includes 4-year warranty). Conforms to the Supported Platform model.
Dell Optiplex 745

Laptop

Dell Latitude D620 Notebook with 1.6-GHz processor, 1-GB memory, 60-GB hard drive, and Windows XP Professional SP2. (Includes 3-year warranty.)

Mac (Desktop)

Note: Pentium 4 computers taken in by this program are then refurbished and sold back to requesting departments for $60 each. In most cases, they are P-4 2-GHz or higher and have a minimum of 256-MB memory and Windows XP operating systems.
