Technology Checkout Service

Many types of instructional technology and audio/visual equipment are available for checkout to students and faculty members through the Technology Checkout Service.

    • You can reserve this portable presentation equipment if you are scheduled in a basic classroom (one without installed technology).

Other uses include:

    • Students creating media for assignments or class presentations.
    • Faculty creating media-rich pedagogy or document research.
    • Academic media production in the Dynamic Media Lab (DML) for members of the campus community.
Note: There is no cost to students or faculty members for checking out equipment for a scheduled class. There may be nominal fees for other uses.

Equipment Checkout &Use Policy

In the event of damage to equipment, Classroom Services repairs the equipment and bills the requesting department for time and materials.

  • Departments or individuals that routinely misuse the equipment may be denied further access. 
  • Always take the time to read the safety and operating forms that accompany our more advanced pieces of equipment.
  • We do not typically deliver to classrooms.
  • Due to time constraints, equipment is often delivered well before the start of class.
  • For the security of the equipment, it is usually delivered to a nearby office or closet.
  • Equipment orders will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Classroom events have priority over non-classroom events.
  • Should your equipment needs change, please promptly inform Classroom Services.
  • Individual training may be necessary due to sophistication or cost of some equipment.

Pricing

  • No charge for scheduled classes and university-related instructional events.
  • $12.50 per day/piece of equipment for events that are not instructionally related.
  • IPOs – If your order requires an Internal Purchase Order (IPO), please have it available upon delivery or checkout of the equipment. The IPO may also be sent to Mail Stop 292.
