EMERGENCY CALLS: Dial either 911 or 9-911 to reach Reno Emergency Dispatch
CAMPUS-TO-CAMPUS CALLS: Dial 5-Digit Number
- On-campus calling requires 5 digits to accommodate 3 prefixes – 784, 327 and 682
- For example, to call a 784 number from on campus, you would dial 4XXX. Or to call a 327 number, you would dial 7XXXX
LOCAL CALLS: Dial 9 + 7-Digit Number
LONG-DISTANCE CALLS: Dial 9 + 1 + Area Code + Number
- Most long-distance calls require an access code (or authorization code). Access codes provide a means of controlling unauthorized use of phones and a mechanism for accounting for long-distance charges.
- After dialing the number, you hear a series of beeps
- At this prompt, dial your access code
- Long-distance access codes were distributed by email to faculty and staff. If you did not receive one, call the Support Center at 25000 and press 5; they can provide a new code or reset your current access code
- Toll-free numbers do not require an access code. They can be dialed by pressing 9 + 1 + number.
