ResHall Mac Configurations

Mac OS 9.x and below

Mac OS X and above:

  1. Click the blue Apple icon (upper left corner of screen).
  2. Select System Preferences.


  3. Select the Network Panel from the section labeled Internet & Network.


  4. Click the blue arrows to the right of the box labeled Location:.
  5. Select New Location.
  6. Enter ResHall. Click OK.
  7. Click the blue arrows to the right of the box labeled Show:.
  8. Select Built-in Ethernet.
  9. On the TCP/IP tab.
  10. Click the blue arrows to the right of the box labeled Configure:
  11. Select Using DHCP.


  12. Click Apply Now.
  13. Close the Preferences window.

Mac OS 9.x and below:

  1. Click the rainbow Apple icon (upper left corner of screen)
  2. Select Control Panels.
  3. Select TCP/IP and a d ialog box displays.
  4. From the dialog box Configure category, select Using DHCP.
  5. From the dialog box find the DHCP Client ID box and type your Fallon login name.


  6. Close the TCP/IP dialog box and Save your settings.
  7. From the MAC main menu, select Special, Restart, to restart the computer.

To start a connection (any OS):

  1. Start your browser.
  2. Log on using your NetID username and password.
