Our Campus Network connects 77 campus buildings, 5 remote locations, 10,000 University-owned computers, and 1,500 student computers, plus all telecommunications equipment on campus.
Configuring Your Computer's IP Address for the Campus Network
For remote access to University network resources, we recommend using Terminal Services or SSH over a high-speed broadband connection such as cable or DSL. Contact your local service provider for more information on options currently available. However, as an alternative, we have limited dial-up access available through PPP.
The Residence Hall Network provides high-speed internet access in all 7 Residence Halls on campus.
The IT Division houses and administers a centralized university research grid, which is used by UNR researchers to run complicated simulations involving massive amounts of data at a much lower cost than setting up their own computer cluster.
With your NetID, you can work wirelessly on your laptop or PDA in 32 campus buildings and 4 outdoor areas.
