Laptop Configuration
Wireless networking is available for Windows or Mac laptop computers running any of the following operating systems. Other (older) operating systems are not supported.
Windows
Mac |
Important Note for IE7 & Firefox 2 Users: If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 2.0, you must create a virtual private network (VPN) connection by hand.
Please call the Help Desk for assistance. Neither browser supports SSL* v2 by default and the University's wireless gateway only supports SSL v2. This DOES NOT affect the working of the VPN or wireless; it only affects access to the web page, so you can’t download the VPN creation application or see instructions.
* SSL is Secure Sockets Layer, a cryptographic protocol for secure communications in web browsing, email, and other data transfers. |
