To use a computer running the Linux operating system in the Residence Hall network, you must configure its network adapter to use DHCP:
Note: Of course you don't have to reboot to have the settings go into effect. You can just take down the Ethernet interface and bring it back up, but it is good to make sure everything goes smoothly on subsequent boots.
