Automated Configuration (Wizard)

  1. Click the Wireless Networks Icon in the taskbar, on the lower right of the screen.

  2. Select UNR-WPA from the menu, and click connect.  The dialog box below will appear on the bottom right of your screen:

  3. Type your UNR NetID/password.  Click OK.  The following dialog box will then appear in the same location.

  4. Click Connect

You will now be successfully connected to the UNR-WPA. If there are any problems, you may need to setup the network manually as described below.

Manual Configuration

  1. Left click the wireless symbol next to the system clock (lower right corner of screen). Select “Open Network and Sharing Center”.
  2. Click on the “Manage wireless networks” link in the upper left hand side of the screen.
  3. Your currently configured wireless networks will be displayed. Click "Add" to begin configuration for the UNR-WPA wireless Network.
  4. Choose “Manually create a network profile”.
  5. Enter and choose the options as shown.
      Network name: UNR-WPA
      Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
      Encryption type: AES
      Security Key: (leave blank)
    Click Next.
  6. Click on “Change connection settings”.
  7. On the “Security” tab, select the options displayed below. 
      Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
      Encryption type: AES
      Choose a network authentication method: Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    Click on the “Advanced settings” button.
  8. Check the “Specify authentication mode” checkbox. Select “User authentication” from the dropdown menu. Click on “Save credentials”.
  9. Enter your UNR credentials (UNR NetID/password) as shown. Replace the word “NetID” with your actual NetID, enter your password then click OK. Your configuration is complete.  Click OK to close any remaining windows.
