These FAQs are specific to BlackBerry users on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.

 

  1. How do I download software to my BlackBerry?
    • Scroll to BlackBerry Browser
    • Scroll to Homepage under BlackBerry Bookmarks
    • Click Get Link
    • Scroll to Downloads
    • Click Get Link
    • Choose your software
  2. Why am I not seeing names in my BlackBerry Address Book?
    Non-Exchange contacts that were added to Outlook or Entourage should display upon a successful Enterprise Activation. However, in the event that they do not successfully synchronize, they will need to be manuall reentered in Outlook or Entourage. Names are also added to your Address Book as they are used. Once you email or call a person, their name is added.
  • To add contacts directly into the Blackberry:
    • Scroll to Address Book
    • Click the scroll wheel
    • Click New Address
    • Enter contact information
  • To look up a name:
    • Scroll to Address Book
    • In the Find: field, enter either the first or last name of the person
    • Click the scroll wheel
    • Click Lookup
  1. How do I delete an entry from the Address Book?
    • In Address Book, highlight your Lookup values
      • Note: Entries are in brackets, e.g., [lookup]
    • Click the scroll wheel
    • Click Delete Lookup
  2. How do I change my BlackBerry theme?
    • Scroll to Options
    • Scroll to Theme
    • Choose Theme
  3. How do I change the owner information on a BlackBerry?
    • Scroll to Options
    • Scroll to Owner
    • Enter Owner Information
    • Click scroll wheel and Save
  4. How do I display and lock owner information?
    • Scroll to Options
    • Security Options
    • Set Password to Enabled
    • Set Security Timeout to desired time in minutes
  5. How do I wipe (reset) my BlackBerry to factory defaults?
    • Scroll to Options
    • Security Options
    • General Settings
    • Click scroll wheel once
    • Highlight Wipe Handheld
