The University offers two types of conference call options:

1. Integrated PBX Conference Bridge (for Large Groups)

Each caller is responsible for the cost of the call including long-distance charges, if applicable. Please notify your participants in advance that they need to call the same number to join in the conference. There is no cost to the University community as it is included as part of the NEC telephone system.

  1. Determine the number of callers for your conference. Conference bridges are available for 8, 16, 32, and 96 participants.
  2. Check for available times for that bridge:
    1. If you have an Exchange account, you can review the conference room schedules through Outlook or Entourage by looking at the Public Folders and then selecting Telephone. The different sized conference bridges are grouped within and scheduled appointments are listed.
    2. Call the Campus Operators at 682-5000 option #6 and check availability.
  3. Once you have determined an available time:
    1. Schedule your conference call either by
      1. Completing and submitting the Integrated PBX Conference Bridge Form or
      2. Calling 25000, #6, and asking to schedule a conference call.
    2. Contact the Campus Operators at 682-5000 option #6 for dial-in information.
    3. You can then distribute the phone number and schedule to your participants.
(NOTE: Use the phone number assigned for that conference call ONLY.)

2. Phone System Conference Calls (Up to 3 Participants)

On your campus NEC phone, you can easily talk with up to 2 other parties simultaneously.

  1. While on a call, press <TRANSFER>.
  2. Dial the number of party to be added. (Dial campus extension or 9 + number for off-campus parties.)
  3. After called party answers, press <CONF> to join all 3 parties.
