Director of TLT |
Michael Simons, director of Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) and Director of Access Services within the University Libraries, joined the University in July 1985. He began as the Education Media Librarian and, in 1993, became the Libraries' Director of Access Services. In 1998, he also became interim director of Teaching & Learning Technologies and, a year later, the director. Mike spent 9 years as an assistant professor at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota within Learning Resources (library) and the College of Education. There, he was responsible for the Instructional Technology Services unit and taught courses in the use of instructional technology and computers in the classroom. For the two years prior to St. Cloud, he was an instructor and reference librarian at Chadron State College in Nebraska. Mike received a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from Western Michigan University in 1974 with additional graduate work in educational technology. After earning a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Winona State University in Minnesota in 1970, he was a school librarian for 3 years. |
